Paramount Sporting were crowned champions in the Bhubaneswar Cricket League, which concluded at Unit-I High School ground today.
Man of the match Mohammad Azhar`s unbeaten half-century helped Paramount Sporting beat Sahid Sporting in the final by five wickets.
Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera gave away the trophy at the closing function. Orissa Test cricketers Debasis Mohanty and Shiv Sundar Das, veteran city cricketer Dev Mahapatra and eminent coach Kishore Mania were honoured on the occasion by host Bhubaneswar Athletic Association.
Brief scores: Sahid Sporting 196/10 in 44.4 overs (Manoranjan Biswal 48, Soumya Das 28: Pravanjan Mullick 4/31, Sumitosh Praharaj 3/32) lost to Paramount Sporting 197/5 in 42.3 overs (M Azhar 55 n.o, Souvagya Mohanty 38 n.o).
